Hi welcome to thecaravanpage.co.uk, a site created for all those people with a love of caravanning and the great outdoors! My name is John, and I am the site creator and editor.

My love of caravanning started when my parents bought a 1977 Abbey Durham back in the early 1980s. It was a simple 'van but we loved it. A 12'8" long 5 berth with 2 doubles and a bunk it was a bit of a squeeze for Mom, Dad, two sisters plus me! Dad used to tow it with a 1.6 Cortina and then later a 2.0 Granada, and most of our holidays were in Cornwall or Devon. I've got a picture somewhere and I'll post it up here, it's very retro and a million miles away from the caravans of today.

I would love to buy a caravan today, but I'm afraid a large mortgage and nursery fees for my 4 month old daughter means money is a little tight for a luxury such as that. I managed to convince my wife a couple of years ago that it would be a marvellous thing, as she has never had the pleasure of a caravanning holiday, only camping in our lovely yet basic tent.

This is one of the many reasons I decided to set up this site, to maybe create a little income to afford to buy our own tourer. So if you are a dealer, own a caravan park or and accessory shop etc then please have a look at advertising with us. Other reasons for the site is so we can share tips and advice, look up a caravan park, send in reviews for the benefit of others and advertise your caravan or related items for free. I didn't want any fancy graphics or confusing video clips, just a simple, easy to use informative site for everyone to use
